Hi Hammerheads families,

Thank you to everyone who came out for our second week of preseason practices! It’s been great seeing so many swimmers in the pool getting ready for the season.

If you have a Pup who’s been cleared by a coach to swim in the meet but you don’t see the option to declare them, just email me directly.

When declaring your swimmer, please share any important notes—like if your swimmer needs to leave early. Coaches will assign events, and we’ll send out warm-up times and event info closer to the meet.

Important deadline: You must declare your swimmer for the June 14th meet by 11:59 PM on June 10th.

Lastly, a quick reminder about practice viewing: if you stay to watch, please remain by the bleachers and leave the areas around the pool clear. For safety and to allow coaches and swimmers space to move, parents should not go past the lifeguard stand on the lane 8 side or past the bleachers on the lane 1 side.

Swimmers may shift between lanes as the season goes on for various reasons. If you have questions, our coaches are happy to chat before or after practice—just please avoid mid-practice conversations unless it's an emergency, so they can stay focused on their lanes. Speaking with coaches during practice can create a safety concern, as it draws their attention away from the swimmers in the water. If you have an urgent question or concern that must be addressed during practice, please look for Shannon or another board member, Coach Ashley, or Coach Hayley.
