Divisionals, Banquet, & Reminders
A few reminders and information for divisionals, as we’re heading into the end of the summer swim season!
Pups:

Banquet:
5-7:30 on July 19 after divisionals in the same location we hold the pep rallies. Kids will have the chance to swim. Bring a side or dessert. Coaches will receive their gifts and all swimmers will receive a ‘paper plate’ award.
All Stars:
All stars entries are due on SUNDAY at 11:59 PM. Payment is due by Monday via cash, check (Hood Hammerheads, Inc.), Zelle, or Venmo. If you use Zelle or Venmo, please send [email protected] a screenshot of your receipt. Events for All Stars are $5 each; swimmers must have the qualifying time and have swum in at least two other meets. If your swimmer has only swum in one meet so far and will swim in divisionals, you should be able to declare them for the events they are qualified to swim after the results are uploaded to Swimtopia. No exhibition events are allowed at All Stars. Families with swimmers swimming at All Stars are expected to volunteer. If your swimmer has a club meet later in the day, they should only register for first half events.
Coach Gifts:
Donations for coach gifts are still being collected via cash, check (Hood Hammerheads, Inc.), Zelle, or Venmo. Remember that many of our coaches are volunteers.
Lost and Found:
Swimmers have left behind many belongings. Please make sure to check the lost and found at Hood prior to your last day of practice. The Hood lost and found is located by the vending machines and the drawers behind the lifeguard stand (goggles, caps, water bottles only).
Practice 7/21-7/25
We continue practice for the competitive team through 7/25. Everyone is welcome, but we especially encourage swimmers swimming at All Stars to attend.
Divisionals information:
Location: Frederick YMCA Natelli Branch. The address is 3841 Campus Drive, Ijamsville, MD 21754. No need to enter the Y - set up outside to the left of the building. Please see the attached maps for swimmer drop off and parking information. Park in the Urbana Middle School Parking Lot. There is a walking path between the parking lot and the team seating area. Please allow time for walking.
Arrival, Warmup, and Meetings:
Coaches arrive 6:30
Swimmers arrive 6:45
Warmup: Hood warmup is 7:10-7:30
Officials - 7:15am Location: Universal Locker Room
Timers - 7:40am Location: Concessions Seating Area
Clerks - 7:40am Location: Clerking Tent
Important things to bring:
Clerking will happen on a blacktop surface. Swimmers must wear flip flops or sandals to and from the Clerk of Course tent.
Spectators:
Spectators will be permitted on the balcony only. No parents may be on deck or in the locker rooms. Parents will enter the balcony via a separate door from the outside that leads to the stairwell up to the balcony. Signs will mark the way to the spectator entrance. No chairs may be set up on the balcony. There are bleachers to be used for seating. We kindly ask that spectators return to their team areas outside once their swimmer has completed their race.
Volunteers:
Please sign up to volunteer. If you are volunteering, you will pick up a badge from the Hood area. You must be there prior to the start of the meet.
Info for Timers:
Each lane will have 3 timers assigned to it. Each timer will be from a different team. You will be using touchpads with 2 buttons and 2 stopwatches for each 50, 100, or 200 yard event. You will use 2 buttons and 2 stopwatches for all 25 yard events. They will talk more about this at the timers’ meeting.

Rest Rooms:
Spectators should use restrooms in the lobby. Enter through the concession seating area and proceed to the individual bathrooms located across from the front desk. Swimmers should use the Swimmer Locker Rooms. They may enter these locker rooms from the deck. No one over the age of 18 will be permitted in the Swimmer Locker Rooms. On-deck volunteers should use the on-deck universal rest room or the restrooms in the Universal Locker Room.
Concessions
Concessions will be available throughout the meet. Concessions seating will be available inside. We accept cash or credit. Please no bills over $20.
